The UnityWorks School Program began in 2014 with a successful pilot program in Yakima, WA (USA). We have partnered with the Yakima School District to train and support teams from eleven local schools:
The Yakima metropolitan area has a population of about 250,000. Almost 45% of the county is Hispanic and 39% of school children speak a language other than English at home. 84% of the students in the Yakima District receive free or reduced-price lunch, and 25% of families with children live below the poverty line. In addition, 29% of the population does not have a high school diploma, 15% are single-parent households, and median household income is $44,419.
